 On behalf of the management of the Division I the RCBE (Rhethorik Club Bern), the Toastmasters of Club Basel and the Novartis Basel Tosatmasters Club presents you this year the Division I Contest-Autumn 2017:

    The Division I Contest - Autumn 2017 (District 59) is a contest in the following disciplines:

        Humorous Speech English    Humorvolle Rede (German)
        Table Topics English    Stegreifrede German

    Location: KompetenzWasser, Bollwerk 21, 3011 Bern See map

    Participation in the Contest is possible for Speakers, who have won at the Club- and Area-Level and are qualified for the Contest according to the Toastmasters Contest Rulebook. Winners at this contest will go forward to the District 59 contests which take place in Milan from 24-26 November 2017. (See for details)

    Guests are heartly Welcome as a diverse audience makes the Event and the experience for the speakers much more fun.

    Included in the event are the two contest in each language, two workshops and lunch.

    Ticket price of 30.00 CHF (payment in advance) or 40 CHF (at the door, limited number)

 Media and Disinformation

Tuesday, 20 November, from 19:00
Meeting room, Bruder Klaus Church (tram 7 to Burgernziel)

There will be three talks, followed by a lively discussion. The themes cover mass media, from newspapers and television to social media.  We will discuss all aspects of misinformation, including “false facts” and “half-lies”, propaganda, politics and advertising.
