Berne Jazz Festival opens in March

Monday 12 March sees the opening of the Berne International Jazz Festival – internationally acclaimed as one of the best of such events in Europe.

Now in its 43rd year, the festival continues over nine weeks and attracts more than 30,000 jazz enthusiasts, many from far beyond Berne. The program of this year again comprises some 200 individual concerts with top performers from the United States and Europe. Almost all performances take place at Marian's Jazz Room at the Hotel Innere Enge. (BernMobil bus 21 stops outside the door.)

From March 13 to May 20, the concerts of the 43rd International Jazz Festival of Berne take place in Marians Jazz Room and Jazz Tent.

The Jazz Tent in the Innere Enge grounds is a popular feature of the Festival. It provides a public platform for student musicians from Berne and New York. Admission to the Jazz Tent is free, and a bar and restaurant are open.

ICB members often attend on Tuesday or Thursday or Friday evenings!
