Thun -- Castle Visit and Lake Walk

Sunday, 29th September 2019 at 10:45am

Location: Treffpunkt at the Berne railway station

This event is in the past.

This is a gentle Sunday 2.5 hour walk (approximately 8km) within an hour`s travel of Bern, with a bonus visit to a historical castle, which is also very suitable for children! Highlights include the fine lake and mountain views and passing no less than three castles.

Meeting Point: Bern station Treffpunkt from 10:45, or on family carriage of 11:06 train to Thun from Platform 5, or on the 11:31 #25 bus from Thun to Oberhofen Dorf, or at the entrance to Oberhofen Castle at 11:45 Get a through ticket, or a cheaper Supersaver to Thun and then a separate bus ticket.

We will visit Oberhofen castle (www.schlossoberhofen.ch/en/home) for an hour or so. Admission charges apply, but it is free for Raiffeisen members-

Around 13:15, we will walk to Schloss H√ľnigen (https://schlosshuenigen.ch/en/) , where we will stop for refreshments at the Castle Bar.

Around 15:00, we will continue to Thun, arriving around 16:00, where we will also take a look at the castle there (www.schlossthun.ch), although I do not plan to visit it on this occasion.

As ever on a walk involving me, you are then welcome to join me for further socialising and refreshments at a suitable establishment in Thun before heading for home around 18:00.

We have a problem: Vernon is working, so we look for a new Leader.
