The evening features two speakers: Stefan Bogdanov and Lauren Deimling Johns.

From Stefan: “One of my main competencies (besides cardiovascular disease prevention, energy metabolism and nutritional medicine) is in the prevention and treatment of Alzheimer’s disease, which I spoke about at a club meeting two years ago. I would like to now talk on a broader topic: brain health or ‘love your brain’. This topic includes other brain illnesses, such disease prevention, energy metabolism and nutritional medicine.”

See Stefan’s website at

Lauren is a Counselling Psychologist who has recently moved to Bern and opened a private practice. Topics we may discuss include International Perspectives in Psychology, Communication between member of a couple, Parenting, Culture Shock, Mental Health and Living Abroad, Therapy Online, etc.

So we have on the Meetup site mysef, Joseph, Maryline, Sue Higson, Sarah Ehinger; while Christine and Esther changed their yes to no. The speakers Stefan and Lauren. On the ICB site Vernon, Jelena and Ernst, and Nazanin and Vernon may come late. So the second email (to 150 addresses) resulted in three more attendees. I feel that it is not worth this effort and the bother to members who ignore the mails anyway.

By phone I have a reservation from Pamela, who asks if it is cancelled. No, we have never, ever, cancelled a Club Meeting, we hold it in some way even with three people.

Those who attend perhaps once or twice remark how great and interesting these meetings are.

But we warn external (non-club) speakers about what to expect and give them the opportunity to pull out, knowing that their time is valuable and we offer them no more than contacts and a bottle of wine.

Who's coming? See all
