Member Ani Jampa Künsang, German-born, is a Buddhist nun and teacher of Buddhism, with long experience in studies, meditation and Buddhist practices. Jampa will give us a short overview over the roots of this old Indian philosophy, telling us who the Buddha was, what he taught, and which main philosophical lines are practised currently.
Enlightenment is understood as a state of mind where all suffering, anxiety and dissatisfaction are overcome and where that person abides in eternal happiness. It can be achieved by intense training, including devotion and meditation. A fully enlightened Buddha because of his omniscience and great skill is able to help all beings to attain total freedom from anxiety and even death.

I now heard from Colin Farmer and Maria Wüthrich who will be attending, and from a few others who will not. And some did not receive the first invitation, or don't see the event on the web site, so I am not sure where any problem is. Also Robert and Mieke Schwenk, and Jenn from Meetup. So I think we will have about 10-12 attendees. Others are welcome to tell me if they did not receive any invitation or reminder. We try to avoid sending too many emails!

Another event - find out more about Buddhism

• buddhistische Literatur, Statuen, Meditationskissen usw. kaufen
