Weather looks great. ALL SYSTEMS GO. Rain only in the evening, in Jura and maybe Alps. I'm eating a great muesli / pineapple breakfast and looking at http://www.meteotest.ch/wetterprognosen/aktuelles_wetter/niederschlagsradar/

Sunday planning (it is still on, unless storms are predicted):
Dimitri will be at the station with a boat around 1000, tel. 079 363 2067. I will be at the station roof parking with the second boat around 10:15, tel. 077 425 4720. I may call on someone to help push the trolley and boat bin from the parking down. Get your tickets early. We meet at 10:30 at the Treffpunkt and then run to the platform for the train at 10:39.
The best storm warning is the rain radar on http://www.meteoschweiz.admin.ch/home.html?tab=rain

Weather: it is good that we have cooler weather, today Saturday there will be occasional showers and storms but Sunday should be ok. Nr 7 Rita can't come and Daniel Aerni takes her place. We may have an extra place but can only decide when we get the boats pumped up in Thun at Schwäbis. If we have any problems we can rent a boat there, see http://www.aarebootsvermietung.ch/pages_en/main.html , for a 2 to 4 person boat it is Fr 130. We collect lifejackets there, Fr 10 each, only cash accepted. Time to go into the water is about 11.15.

We have 8 people, as follows, sorry that we could not take all that wanted to come. These are 1-Lena K, 2-Jillian H., 3-Jillian R., 4-Michael, 5-Silvi M, 6-Anais M, 7-Rita K, 8-Dimitri T. Myself I have a leg injury and don't think I can go. Now, the weather may not be so hot and there are warnings of showers, but these always come late in the day, not at 11 am. We will see on Saturday what the forecast is.

Places are limited for the rafting - please reserve to me, Dimitri or Nazanin. You must be a good swimmer, lifejackets are recommended and can be rented from the shop in Thun Schwäbis at the beginning of the trip. If you are joining us in Eichholz for the BBQ (and swimming to Marzili), please reserve with Nazanin or on the event page http://www.icberne.ch/item/989743 .

Hi Sasanti, yes you must be able to swim well in the Aare with confidence. There is always the possibility that the boat tips over as we go over a couple of rough spots under bridges, then you let go of the rope and a bit further downstream swim to the boat and get helped in. If it is a hot day, some prefer to swim a bit, but not for the whole two hours.
You must join us to swim at Marzili in the Aare sometime, several of the club do it and we can help you get used to it. Either from one end to the other of the pool area, or we walk up to Dählhölzli/Schonau and get in the water at the bridge. Along with hundreds of others - but you must have a buddy who can help you. Call me sometime.
